It’s not just the Backstay building that is getting a facelift. Right across the street, the abandoned lot has been converted to a parking for Backstay residents. The old, cracked concrete has been removed and replaced with smooth asphalt. With the visual improvements to the building and adjacent lot, Union City can be proud of its historic buildings now and into the future.
