Warm weather can be taxing, but the headway continues at 4 West in Columbia, South Carolina. Work on the pile caps is in progress as a crucial aspect to the structural integrity of the new building. The pile caps will support the columns that themselves support elevated slabs above. The foundation was mostly sand to start the projects, so drilling had to be done to the layer of granite 40-50 feet below to have a strong base. As this phase of the 4 West development takes place, it is more apparent how the new additions will integrate with the established buildings.
